SANBS hosted the above function at Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel and Convention Centre on 14th March 2020 from 09:00am for 10:00. The programme included a guest speaker who was a recipient of blood after been stabbed in the neck by a taxi driver. He was in a coma for some time. When he got out of coma, he was blind and had to undergo severe physiotherapy to enable him to walk. The responsibilities of the peer promoters were discussed. The importance of blood donation was highlighted. They also informed them about the requirements for blood donation and what happens to the donated blood. The peer promoters are Abdur Rehman Sayed, Kushal Maharaj, Leah Haricharan, Sanelisiwe Bhengu and Mary Hobe. Due to unforeseen circumstances only Sanelisewe attended.
